Use your thickers!

I have a lots of thickers and sometimes I need them in different colors and

now I will show you how:

I often use: glimmer mist (spray paint), paint, ink and glitter and thickers in foam:

I love to use paint on thickers, it’s perfect for the dark colored/black thickers:

I often use ink (chalk ink) to get a soft look:

For a dirty/vintage look, I use distress ink:

Glimmer mist gives almost the same results as ink and you can vary the colors:

It’s all about the glitter, I love glitter. You can use it above paint/ink or just like this on the top:

Prompt 11: Step by Step

Step by Step Oooooh baby (yes I went there. Its been in my head for 3 days)

They roll, they scoot, they crawl, they cruise,
they walk, they run, they dance, then snooze
As our kids grow they begin to move and explore. In fact in honor of the challenge my Aubrey decided to walk unassisted on Sunday night.... whoo hoo!

This weeks challenge is ALL about ACTION! Catch your child moving in any way and scrap it!

2. Where are you from: Barnesville, MN

3. Tell us about you.....
I’m a 32 year old wife, mother, avid scrapper, wanna-be photographer, equestrian and lover of all things glittery/sparkly/bling-related! I’ve been scrapping on and off for about 7 years but recently started getting serious about scrapping after taking a class at my local scrapbook store in 2007. (aka stopped using computer printer stationary for some of my pages. ~blush~)
I love color, trying new techniques, stickles and sewing on layouts. My favorite subjects to scrap include my daughter, hubby, brother and pets (horse, 2 cats & dog).

4. Tell us about your babies.....
Makenna just turned 1 yo June 6. She is a wild woman...definitely keeps this momma on her toes! She is a high maintance, impatient drama queen just like her father ~wink~. She loves wearing my shoes and carrying anyone's purse. I think we have a fashionista on our hands:)

8/08 Kristin's Accordian Mini Tin Album tutorial

1. Select a tin (altoid, and tobacco tins work great)
2.Apply a coat of paint to the interior and exterior of tin (I used 
spray paint)
3. Measure tin and cut two sheets of paper slightly smaller to fit 
front and back sides of tin.
4.Used Mod Podge (or similar product) to adhere sheets of paper. I used 
two coats (One to adhere the paper to the metal, and a second over the 
paper to “seal” and protect it).

5. Cut a sheet of cardstock into strips, width of strips should be approximately ¼” shorter than the length Of your tin. Accordian fold strips of cardstock. (I used a scoring blade on my paper trimmer to score the sheet approx ¼” shorter than the width of your tin.)

6. Use a bone folder to make folded edges crisp.
7. To adhere strips of cardstock (you can make as many as you like), 
overlap the ends and glue w/a strong paper adhesive (I like Yes paste).
8. Make a small cut off each corner of the folded papers (this makes it 
easier to open and close the album without the corners snagging on the 
rounded edges of the tin)

 
You will then need to adhere the two ends of cardstock to the lid and base of tin 
(I used Mod Podge)....and decorate as you see fit!
I printed up all my photos in wallets and found them to be the perfect 
size!

1. Name: Heather Gerritis

2. Where are you from: Palmer, AK

3. Tell us about you..... I am a 33 year old SAHM of two crazy kids. My husband of seven years and I have a full house with the four of us plus two cats and a seven month old puppy. I spend most of my time chasing my kidlets but when I get a chance to wind down I spend my time scrapbooking. I love doing anything that is crafty and am usually the one in the family to make gifts as presents instead of buying them.

This is the first design team I've been on besides my LSS so I am pretty excited about right now!!!

4. Tell us about your babies.....Ah, my babies are growing up way too fast! Gavin is five and Bekah is two. They are my pride and joy and are so full of energy!!

5. your favorite scrappy supply: This is tough...I would have to say (if I can only pick one) my Martha Stewart butterfly punch is definitely my most sought after item.

6. your favorite must have baby item: Can I say a babysitter?! LOL Seriously I find that I don't get away too much to spend time for myself, so having a babysitter really helps me find myself again.

3. I am a 31 year old SAHM and wife living a little west of Boston. I am the only pink in a house full of blue: I have a husband, little boy, and three male cats! Before staying at home I worked as a theatrical costume designer but I now spend my days with paper instead of fabric. I love to cook, bake (especially cupcakes), travel, entertain, and do laundry. Yes, I said I love laundry... go ahead and call me a freak! I have a certain affinity for ancient and medieval history, in-jokes, making up words, and general shenanigans.

4. My Owen was born in December of 2009 and he is just the coolest little dude EVER! He has a huge personality at seven months. He never stops going, going, going and keeps me on my toes as he is already pulling up all over the place and cruising. He learns super fast, gets showered with compliments everywhere we go, and is pretty much my little shining star! I also get a chance to break out the flowers and ruffles on pages about my best friend's little girl, who was born just six weeks after Owen.

5. Some might say I need to join Thickers Anonymous... I have a slight "problem" with collecting those. I love texture: chunky, touchy-feely, layered goodness, please!

6. My favorite baby item changes every month it seems. For the early months the Miracle Blanket saved our sleep and our sanity!! Right now I'm going to go with the giant gated play yard (aka Baby Jail!) because it gives me a few minutes to get stuff done while the little guy plays safely and happily!

Prompt 10: How I met your father

Okay so this one isnt exactly baby related.... but I think it will be a prompt that EVERY baby will cherish when looking back at their album.

As a kid I always loved looking at my parents yearbooks and pictures of them together before I was born. Pictures from when they were young and in love.(I can feel my mom shudder as I type this) Even though my parents have been divorced for 25 years I still have pics around from back in the day. Im the one in possession of  their wedding album (because neither of them want it.. lol) I still care about that piece of  my history


For this prompt I want you to scrap a little about YOU.... more specifically how you and your significant other met. Where did you meet? Was it a blind date? Were you friends first? Was it a random hookup? Document something about what you were like when you were young and in love. If you are on your second marriage feel free to create a layout about meeting your current love (step parent)

Journaling: We met around 1997 or 98, in a local online group that used to get together every few weeks for an evening out. Long story short, nothing ever sparked for me. I would hear about your comings and goings from a mutual friend, but nothing more than that. Fast forward about 8 years and I got this email from you saying hi. We started talking and getting together. Now we are happily married and working on our sixth anniversary this year! I have known this girl in scrappy circles for what seems like forever! She was on the first ever scrappy board I ever posted on, a tiny little ezboard site. She was a Rusty Pickle Chef and she is not afraid to Dirty Scrap plus she has played along with us quite a few times and is always a favorite! Please welcome the fabulous and talented

KELLY CRANFILL

Hi Guys! I’m Kelly Cranfill and I live in the western part of North Carolina with my husband, two year old son and two puppies. We have another bundle on the way too! I love being creative and all aspects of crafting - from card making, layouts, altered items (especially home décor), cross stitching to sewing!

I scrap both traditionally (paper) and digitally, and occasionally I will combine them both into a hybrid project. I honestly can’t say I prefer one method over the other, as they are completely different. I am honored to have had work published in a few different places (both online and in print) and was super excited to be asked to guest design

I’ve been scrapping for years. I lost count somewhere along the way, but I started long before I got married. I originally started scrapping for my niece and nephew – so they wouldn’t forget all the fun things we did together. Since then, my life has changed and I definitely scrap more about my family and tons of pics of my little man!

I am excited to be the guest designer here at Scrap That Baby and I can’t wait to see what you all creative ladies do to inspire me!
