Brandi's Resist stamping technique

Want to incorporate stamping into your scrapping more? I’ve discovered an awesome technique that will do just that. Resist stamping.

To achieve the look on my layout you will need clear embossing ink, clear embossing powder, ink in your choice of color(s), a heat gun, and of course your choice of stamps. I chose to use a white background because I wanted my “waves” to appear white.

Start by stamping your image with the clear ink and embossing with clear powder. Once you have the design you want completed, with a damp sponge, rub/dab ink over the embossed design. The embossing will “resist” the ink, leaving the white to show through. Blend your ink colors to achieve the look you desire. A similar look can be created with watercolors or walnut ink. This is a great technique to use when needing a certain patterned paper that you can’t locate.

Prompt 7: A few of my favorite things

Whether it's raindrops on roses or whiskers on kitten we all have things that we consider our FAVORITE. What is amazing is children, even small children, have things that they favor.

What is her favorite show? His favorite food? Does she giggle loudly when you sing a certain song? Does he crawl immediately towards a certain toy?

What does your child love? For this prompt we want you to scrap about your baby's favorite things! It can be one thing or a list of loves.... but one thing is for sure.... in 20 years you will treasure what made your baby smile now.

Please join me in welcoming....

Pamela Young

Hello!  My name is Pamela Young. I absolutely LOVE scrapbooking. It is a way of life for me. :)  My style keeps evolving. I love to try new things. I also tend to stick with my favorite techniques and designs. If I find something I love, I tend to use it a lot. People have told me that they will see something by me and know it is mine before reading who did it.  So I must have the "Pamela" style.  :) I have been published in several different magazines (Cards, Creating Keepsakes, Memory Makers, Scrapbooks and Cards Today, Scrapbooks Etc, and Scrapbook Trends). Currently I am designing for My Little Shoebox, Punky Sprouts, Tattered Angels, and Helmar Adhesives.  I also write for ScrapStreet magazine.  I keep an updated blog at http://pamelasworldofscrap.blogspot.com/

I live in beautiful Colorado, and I am a SAHM to two wild boys, ages 7 and 5, and a one year old girl.  They grow up so fast.  I am enjoying life right now, even though it can get a bit chaotic.  J I have a wonderful husband who is supportive of my crafting obsession. We have been married for 10 years. Family plays a big part in my life.

1.
grab two scraps of fabric.  Follow the instructions on the package to adhere the two scraps together.

2)     2. Next, use your pen to draw any fun shapes or letters you want to use.
3)    3.  Now use your sewing machine to stitch around your drawings.  And then cut around the edge of your stitching.
4)
4. Now you have a super fun embellishment!  The best part is that it is cute on both sides AND it is isn’t flimsy!!

Prompt 6: Its All about the belly

When I said this prompt is big... I meant BIG! Big and round with a cute little baby. That's right this prompt is ALL ABOUT THE BELLY. Get out those pregnancy pictures that you took of your growing belly and get them scrapped (whether you like them or not) Your little one will definitely appreciate seeing pictures of the belly in which s/he came from someday and you will have documentation of just how LARGE you really were.

For this challenge you just have to scrap a picture of someone (anyone) with a pregnant belly. It can be an itty bitty bloated 10 week belly or a ginormous kicking 40 week belly. The subject can be just about anything and it can be 30 years old as long as its a baby belly.

Check out these adorable design team bellies!
